PEOPLE’S Democratic Party, PDP, in Kano and Katsina states, yesterday, rejected the presidential election results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in the two states.

The party claimed the results were not only inflated, but that the election was marred with irregularities among others.

In Kano State, the PDP’s Agent at the collation centre, Alhaji Rabiu Sulaiman-Bichi, who is also the state PDP Chairman, alleged that the figures were inflated.

According to him, “We cannot accept such an inflated figure and that is our stand, so we will go back and analyse the issue to know the next line of action to take.

“As you can see, the presiding officers complained of lack of use of card readers during the voting in the presidential and national assembly elections in the state coupled with over-voting.

“We shall look at the circumstances and provisions of the law and see what the law says so as to pursue our rights,” he said.

Similarly, in Kastina, Alhaji Salisu Majigiri, the state PDP Chairman, at a briefing in Katsina, alleged that there were some election irregularities committed in some local government areas of the state during the poll that were unacceptable to the PDP.

“Like in Kankara Local Government Area, some uncustomised result sheets were used to enter results. Even though they are from INEC, they were not the ones specifically meant to be used for 2019 elections.

“In other places, there are over voting which we also observed, we are not satisfied with the result, that is why we rejected it and refused to sign.

“We raised objections on these issues during collation, but we were overruled. We will also raise these issues in Abuja during the final collation.”
