Breaking: Many feared dead as Boko Haram reportedly opens fire on Borno governor’s convoy

Boko Haram terrorists have reportedly opened fire on the convoy of Governor Kashim Shettima of Borno state.
According to Sahara Reporters, the incident happened on Wednesday, February 12 as the convoy was travelling from Maiduguri, the state capital, to Gamboru-Ngala for a political rally.

According to Daily Trust, an unconfirmed number of people were killed in the terrorists attack.
About a dozen people have reportedly been missing too.
Gictz News had reported that Nigerian soldiers engaged in a fierce battle with suspected Boko Haram fighters at Madagali town in northern part of Adamawa state.
Daily Trust reports that soldiers had repelled the insurgents on Saturday, February 9, killing at least one while a soldier lost his life.
Similarly, it was earlier reported that the Nigerian Army on Tuesday, February 12, said its troops successfully repelled attack a coordinated by the Boko Haram insurgents at Madagali town in Adamawa state.
Also, the Air Task Force (ATF) of Operation Lafiya Dole destroyed an Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) training camp and neutralized several terrorists at Malkonory in Northern Borno state.
Gictz News gathered that the operation was executed on Sunday, February 10, after Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) aircraft observed significant human activities.
The ISR aircraft also observed several structures, equipment and vehicles spotted camouflaged under the dense vegetation in the area used by the terrorists for training.
“Accordingly, 2 Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Alpha Jet aircraft were dispatched to attack the location, dropping their bombs successfully within the camp leading to massive fires and resulting in the neutralizing of several terrorists.
“Battle Damage Assessment (BDA) by own and allied ISR later revealed that the terrorists suffered heavy casualties as a result of the air strikes,” a statement sent to journalists by NAF spokesman, Air Commodore Ibikunle Daramola revealed.
